Over the past few months I began a painting study on Buddhist symbols, I created a series of 12 miniature paintings exploring the 8 Auspicious Symbols alongside the 4 classical elements (not the Chinese five), which formed the foundation of this project. Each piece became a starting point for deeper reflection, which eventually grew into this journal. This reflections journal is one of the most personal projects I’ve created, built around 12 Buddhist inspired wisdoms, each paired with an original painting, an explanation of the work, a reflection question, and an action step to help you move from insight into practice. You can work through the journal however you need; one wisdom each month, one each week, or completely at your own rhythm. It’s designed as a space to slow down, observe honestly, and reconnect with intention through art and reflection. I choose to release this for the Year of the Fire Horse and begin the workbook with the Fire Horse! A cycle associated with courage, transformation, independence, and powerful forward movement. My hope is that this journal becomes a companion as you navigate creative evolution during a transformative Horse year. I’m incredibly proud of this project. It pushed my work and beliefs further than I expected and opened a new direction in what I want to create next.
